 CONGRATULATIONS!Not only another medal for the Niagara Thunder trophy shelf...this time it's GOLD for the Bantam girls at the Provincial Championships!!!!!
This is only the second season that this group of talented young ladies has been together - starting out with a small group of only 5 that had ever played travel basketball before. This weekend, the Bantam girls travelled to Windsor and finished first in their pool. They then advanced to Sunday, defeating London in the semi's and Welland in the final. These girls gave 100% of themselves - not only on the court, but also in the season leading up to the OBA's by dedicating such an enormous amount of time and energy to the benefit of the team. (12 & 13 year old girls giving up valuable social time!!!) The parents are to be applauded for their continuous support, encouragement, trust in the coaches and 'belief' in our program! Last but not least, a simple, but heartfelt thank you is extended to Robb, Steph and John. It takes a lot to be a great coach. Your dedication to this group of girls is incredible. People often take for granted how much energy it takes and how many voluntary hours go in. Without you, these girls would never have had this opportunity - would never have developed these friendships - would never have the OBA gold medal - would never have this very special memory.
